Morita.

Morita.

I believe we often underestimate how the most beautiful adventures begin.

We readily imagine that they are born from a brilliant idea.

From a grand project.

From an extraordinary moment.

Yet mine was born much more simply.

During a walk.

One summer day.

With Morita.

And a dear friend, the director of an estate.

Nothing suggested that this day would one day change part of my life.

We were walking.

We were talking.

We were smiling.

Then our eyes stopped on a T-shirt.

It said:

“I can’t…”

We laughed.

Simply.

The way friends laugh together.

At that moment, JPJG did not exist.

There was no logo.

No polo shirt.

No blog.

No project.

Only a smile.

And yet...

I believe today that everything began there.

Thinking back to that day, I often wondered why that memory touched me so deeply.

I believe I have found the answer.

It reminds me that we sometimes search very far for what is already within reach.

We wait for the perfect moment.

The big idea.

Certainty.

While life often works differently.

It offers us a small sign.

An encounter.

A walk.

A smile.

A sentence.

And sometimes it is these tiny moments that, years later, take on immense importance.

When people ask me where JPJG was born, I could answer: in the Ardèche.

I could answer: in the world of golf.

But the truth is a little more tender than that.

It was born one summer day, during a walk with Morita and a dear friend, the director of an estate.

Since that day, I have looked at walks differently.

Encounters, seen differently.

Smiles, seen differently.

Because I now know that a great adventure can begin quietly.

Without outsized ambition.

Without a perfectly mapped-out plan.

It can begin exactly as mine did.

With a moment so simple that, at the time, no one imagines it is changing a life.

I sincerely hope that everyone one day experiences their own walk with Morita.
