There are people without whom golf would not be the same. Yet we often pass by them without knowing their names.
When we talk about golf, we naturally think of the courses.
To the competitions.
To the champions.
To the finest shots.
All of this is part of the beauty of this sport.
But I believe there is another kind of beauty.
More discreet.
That of all the people who make these moments possible.
Before the first tee time, someone is already at work.
The greenkeeper.
They have often arrived long before sunrise.
They walk across a course that is still silent.
They prepare a course that others may feel they are discovering “naturally.”
Yet nothing is left to chance.
Every detail is the result of daily care.
I find this profession profoundly noble.
Because their finest compliment is often invisible.
When the course seems perfect, it means their work has been successful.
Then comes the welcome.
A smile.
A hello.
A few words exchanged.
You might think they are nothing more than details.
I believe exactly the opposite.
A day often begins with a meeting.
And some people have the extraordinary talent of making others feel that they are expected.
I'm not sure we always appreciate the value of this simplicity.
There are also those who prepare a meal.
A coffee.
A terrace where the game continues.
The restaurateur.
The server.
The cook.
Sometimes, we remember a journey.
But we also remember a conversation around a table.
A shared lunch.
A laugh.
As if these moments were also part of the game.
And then there is everyone else.
The teachers.
The volunteers.
The gardeners.
The people who maintain the buildings.
The administrative teams.
All those whose work never makes the headlines.
And yet...
Without them, there would be no experience.
That special atmosphere we feel when arriving at a golf course would not exist without them.
I believe our society often celebrates those in the spotlight.
It is only natural.
But I would also like us to take more time to thank those who work behind the scenes.
Because they remind us of something essential.
A great work is always a collective effort.
Perhaps that is what touched me from my very first encounters with the world of golf.
I discovered more than just a sport there.
I discovered a community there.
Women and men who, each in their own place, help create somewhere people are happy to come together.
And I find that deeply inspiring.
JPJG was born from this admiration.
If this brand exists today, it is also to shine a light on the people we thank far too rarely.
Because deep down, I believe that true elegance is not merely about admiring those who shine.
It also means never forgetting those who quietly light the way.
Nobility does not lie in the position one holds. It lies in the way one chooses to carry it out.
JPJG is a brand that believes any profession can become a work of art when carried out with respect, patience, and generosity. And it is this way of committing oneself that it simply calls nobility.
